Dalek Cupcake

This amigurumi pattern was made up so I could make some mini cupcakes for the wedding of Carin of the Round the Twist video podcast. It’s a delicious combination of knitting and Doctor Who geekery. You can make whatever colour of Dalek you want! Any sock yarn will do.

Sizing

1 5/8" wide at widest point and 1 3/8" high (not including "cherry on top")

Materials needed

• Yarn: Model used:
• Needles:
  • 2.5mm DPNs
  • (optional) 2.5mm or smaller crochet hook
• Colour A (wrapper): a little more than 3 yards
• Colour B (icing bulge and spots): about 7 yards
• Colour C (icing background: about 3.5 yards
• Stitch marker, or whatever you use to mark the beginning of rounds
• Stuffing

Gauge

32 stitches and 40 rows = 4 inches in stocking stitch
